The supreme stainless alloy and standard Joewell edge aren’t the flashiest steel on this site, but they are reliable, take a beautiful sharpening, and the traditional handle gives you that direct, connected feel a lot of senior stylists never want to give up. Across the 4.5” through 7.0” range it’ll handle blunt work, layering, dry detailing and scissor-over-comb without complaint, and with care it genuinely lasts twenty-plus years. Two honest notes: the classic (non-offset) handle isn’t the most ergonomic choice if you suffer wrist or thumb strain, and the standard alloy won’t out-last a cobalt blade between sharpenings.
