“The Chomper earns its name through that wide 2.55” blade — there’s more steel meeting the hair per stroke, so it chews through thick sections and scissor-over-comb work faster than a slim blade, which is why I’d file it under barber duties first. The 440C runs a touch harder here at 60HRC, the mirror-polished convex edge slices rather than pushes, and the offset handle keeps the wrist honest when you’re powering through a heavy clean-up. Where I’d pump the brakes is fine detail: a wide blade is not your tool for delicate point cutting around a fringe or precise slide texturising — it’s built for coverage, not finesse. It only comes right-handed at 6.0”, so lefties and anyone wanting a compact 5” precision blade should look elsewhere. For a barber or a stylist whose day is bulk removal and over-comb work, though, it’s a satisfying, confident cutter.”
