The SUS440C at 58HRC is a touch harder than Mina’s coating-finished thinners, so the mirror-polished edge holds reasonably well for the price — though it’s still mid-tier steel that will ask for sharpening sooner than a cobalt blade, and the points want protecting. The honest framing is that being a do-everything thinner, it’s not the sharpest specialist at either end: it won’t carve dramatic chunk like a coarse texturiser nor feather as invisibly as a fine 35-plus-tooth blender.
