Nano Powder Metal is a powder-metallurgy designation you may see on premium shears. It points to how the steel is produced, not to a guaranteed cutting result.

What to check on the shear

Ask for the exact grade and construction used by that model. Then compare its blade length, edge, handle and pivot. A fine steel in the wrong size or grip will still be the wrong tool for your work.

The finish of a powder-steel cutter may be designed for precise slicing or dry detail, but the grind is the maker’s choice. Use the product’s own specification rather than assuming all powder-metal shears feel alike.

Care and sharpening
