“The Featherlite’s whole pitch is weight, and it delivers — picking it up after a heavier blade, the relief is immediate, and that’s the case for it: if your hands fatigue or you’re managing strain, hours of cutting simply cost you less. The hollow-relieved body is still proper VG-10 with a 3D convex edge, so it slices cleanly for blunt, point and slide work, and the ball-bearing tension stays smooth and consistent. It runs a classic (non-offset) handle and right-handed only, which is worth knowing going in. Two caveats: extreme weight relief shifts the balance, so it can feel almost too light if you’re used to a blade with some heft driving the cut, and it’s a precision tool at 5.5”–6.0” rather than a long over-comb workhorse. For a stylist whose priority is all-day comfort on detailed salon work — especially with hand fatigue in the picture — it’s a thoughtfully made, genuinely distinctive blade.”
