How to Inspect Premium Shears When They Arrive
Inspect a new shear against the exact product and variant ordered, then record its condition before cutting or adjusting the pivot.
Check identity and contents
Compare the delivered shear with your order: model, selected length, hand orientation and whether the purchase was a single shear or a set. Check the listing for any case or accessory actually included. Packaging can differ by model, so judge the contents against the order rather than a generic kit photo.
Photograph the parcel, product labels and shear before use. Record a serial number only if one is present. The authenticity checklist can help you compare marks and documentation with the model you bought.
Inspect the tool
Look at the blade tips and cutting lines in good light. Check for visible chips, bends, transit damage or loose hardware. Open and close the shear gently to feel for obvious grinding or catching. For a set, inspect the cutter and thinner separately, including the thinner teeth.
If something looks wrong, keep the shear unused and send the order details and photographs through the contact form. Document the condition before attempting tension changes or sharpening.
Put it into service
Once the shear matches the order and its condition is clear, store it clean and dry until your first appointment. Follow the maintenance guide for the ordinary cleaning, pivot oiling and service routine. An arrival inspection records the starting condition; it does not replace ongoing care.
