Choose the cutter; the thinner stays the same
This Sakura II set pairs a convex-edge cutting shear with a 6.0-inch, 30-tooth thinner. Both are right-handed, with offset handles, SUS440C steel and Sakura engraving. The cutter establishes the line; the toothed shear lets you adjust weight and soften transitions.
The menu changes the cutting shear’s length. It does not resize the thinner.
| Selected cutter | Thinner in the pair |
|---|---|
| 5.0 inches | 6.0 inches, 30 teeth |
| 5.5 inches | 6.0 inches, 30 teeth |
| 6.0 inches | 6.0 inches, 30 teeth |
| 6.5 inches | 6.0 inches, 30 teeth |
| 7.0 inches | 6.0 inches, 30 teeth |
When a pair makes sense
Choose a set when you need both jobs covered and these two tools fit your work. If you already have a cutter you like, compare a single thinner before buying another pair. A bundle is useful when you will use its components, not simply because it contains more pieces.
Pick the cutter length against a familiar shear. The shorter options keep the tip closer to your hand; the longer ones give more reach across a section or comb. Our size guide explains the nominal whole-tool measurement.
The buyer’s guide uses Sakura II to show why every tool in a set needs its own specification. Browse sets and kits to compare other pairings.
Keep a record for each tool
Give the Sakura II cutter and thinner separate protected slots so their blades cannot knock together. Clear the thinner’s 30 teeth gently and protect the cutter’s convex edge. The cutter length varies with your selected set; the thinner remains 6.0 inches, so record them individually rather than applying the set’s size to both tools.
Our working care routine covers the blade, teeth and pivot as separate parts. The tool log helps you keep each shear’s observations and service history distinct.
