A wide convex blade in three lengths

The Ichiro Sword, also listed as the Katana, pairs a wide convex cutting blade with an offset handle and 440C steel. The three right-handed options are 6.0, 6.5 and 7.0 inches. They share the construction; the nominal length is the choice you make in the menu.

Start with 6.0 inches if that is the reach you already control comfortably. Compare 6.5 or 7.0 inches when you regularly work across a comb or wider sections and want more length. Moving up also puts the tip further from your hand, so a longer size needs a reason in your daily work.

Compare length before the steel label

440C identifies the listed material. It does not tell you how this cutter will feel beside a narrower blade or a different handle. Keep blade width, handle layout and the selected size together when you compare models. Our steel library explains what a grade can and cannot establish.

All three variants have a polished finish and a key-adjusted pivot. Clear hair from the blades, dry the shear after use and make small tension changes. Keep the edge away from comb teeth.

Give the wide convex blade its own space

Store the Sword closed in a protected slot, with the wide convex blade and tip clear of neighbouring tools. Record the selected 6.0-, 6.5- or 7.0-inch size before discussing service. Follow the model’s directions for its key-adjusted pivot; a screw change does not repair a nick or restore the edge.
