Description
The Mina Ash Black Thinning Scissors are professional-grade hair thinning tools designed for precision texturizing and blending. These scissors are crafted from reliable cutting-grade steel, offering a perfect balance of sharpness, durability, and lightweight handling.
- High-Quality Steel: Made from Stainless Alloy (7CR) Steel, ensuring sharpness, durability, and corrosion resistance.
- Ergonomic Design: Offset handle for a comfortable, natural cutting position, reducing hand fatigue during long styling sessions.
- Fine V-teeth Serration: Provides a smooth, pleasant cutting experience while effectively thinning and texturizing hair.
- Versatile Performance: Ideal for thinning, texturizing, and blending techniques, suitable for various hair types and styles.
- Allergy-Neutral Coating: Black finish that’s gentle on sensitive skin, preventing allergic reactions.
- Precision Thinning: 6-inch blade length offers excellent control and accuracy for detailed work.
Professional Opinion
“A thinner is the one tool where I’m relaxed about a budget buy, because the steel is doing less brutal work than a cutting blade, and the Ash Black is a sensible pick for the money. The fine V-tooth serration takes out weight cleanly and leaves a soft, blended line rather than a shelf — good for removing bulk from a thick four-corners or feathering a fringe. At 42g it’s light, the offset sits naturally, and the black allergy-neutral coating is a real plus if you or your client react to nickel.
Set your expectations with the steel, though: 7CR at 55-57 HRC is honest cutting-grade, not premium cobalt, so the teeth will dull faster than a Yasaka or Kasho and I wouldn’t try to resharpen serrations cheaply — when they go, you replace. As an apprentice’s first thinner, a colourist’s blending tool, or a low-cost second texturiser, it does the job without pretending to be more.”
