The two choices cut differently

Every Ergo set contains one cutter and the same 6.0-inch, 30-tooth thinner. Choose a 5.5-inch convex cutter or a 6.0-inch micro-serrated cutter. Both pairs are right-handed, with offset handles and polished stainless-alloy construction.

This is more than a size choice. The convex option has a smooth cutting edge; the longer micro-serrated option grips the section as the blades close. If your educator or usual routine calls for a particular edge, settle that before comparing the half-inch difference.

Buy the two tools for two useful tasks

The cutter establishes the shape; the thinner gives you another way to adjust weight or blend a transition. A set makes sense when you need both. Log the cutter option in full

Record the selected edge as well as the length, and keep a separate entry for the thinner. Clear the teeth gently, dry both shears and store them in separate protected slots. Show the full cutter option to a technician before edge work; the micro-serrations on the six-inch version are intentional. Follow the working care routine between services.
