Choose the left-handed build first

The Design Master LEFTY gives you the series’ hollow semi-convex blades in a left-handed offset cutter. It uses VG-10W steel, a satin finish and a raised ratchet tension screw. Choose 5.5 or 6.0 inches.

Left-handed describes the blade and handle arrangement, rather than a grip you can create by turning a right-handed shear over. Our handed-build guide shows that distinction. Keep hand fixed when comparing the remaining features.

Compare the tip’s reach against a familiar left-handed tool. The shorter option keeps it closer to your hand; the longer option adds reach across a section. Nominal size is the whole shear’s length, so the size guide is useful when comparing actual blades.

For another compact left-handed construction, the 5.2-inch Ivory Offset changes both length and blade construction to a mirror-polished convex design. It is a different comparison from choosing between the two Design Master sizes.
