Compare the thinner
The Obsidian thinner is one right-handed 6.0” shear with 30 V-shaped teeth. Tooth count tells you the construction; a test cut on the hair you work with is the useful way to judge removal and finish.
Juntetsu names the tooth design MIKURO EDGE. The listed steel is Takefu VG10 at 60–62 HRC, with a matte black coating. The super-offset handle places the thumb ring lower than the finger ring. If you are choosing between this and a conventional offset thinner, handle fit is the practical comparison.
This page is for the thinner alone. The Obsidian cutter and matched set are separate products. Clear hair from the teeth after use, dry the shear and arrange professional service when cutting performance drops.
