Sixteen V-shaped teeth for a defined texture task
This Ichiro texturiser is a single 6.0-inch shear with 16 V-shaped teeth, an offset handle, convex edge and 440C steel. Choose it when your kit needs this tooth layout for planned texture or weight adjustment. It is not a solid-blade cutter for establishing the main line.
The sixteen teeth are a construction detail, rather than a removal percentage. Count, tooth width, spacing and grooves work together. A higher tooth count on another shear does not, by itself, prove that it makes a smaller change. Our thinning and texturising guide explains what else to compare.
Decide what the shape needs first
Name the intended change before choosing the toothed tool: a transition to blend, a place to adjust weight, or texture within a section. Assess the hair’s density and the planned shape as well as strand texture. “Fine hair” alone is not a reason to remove weight.
For an apprentice, discuss the placement with an educator and practise the brief under supervision. The beginner practice guide gives you a way to record the result and feedback without guessing a universal number of passes.
Compare it with the tool you already use
The Ichiro Offset cutter in 6.0 inches is a solid-blade shear and covers a different job. The Ergo 30-tooth thinner is another tooth layout to compare by construction and intended use. The choice is not a numerical ranking from sixteen to thirty.
Keep cut hair out of the V-shaped teeth, dry the blades and store the tool separately. Stop if a tooth is damaged or catches; the changed-cut guide helps you describe the problem before seeking service.
