Forty teeth with its own cut-rate statement

E-40 is a 5.6-inch, right-handed thinner with 40 teeth and a symmetric handle. Its Standard JOEWELL Blade, Supreme Stainless Alloy and precision flat screw belong to this E-series construction. The finish is satin, and the finger rest is removable.

Joewell’s E-series page states a 35% cut ratio for E-40. Read that as a model specification, then assess how the tool belongs in the section and movement your work requires.

The E-30 comparison reverses a common shortcut

The 30-tooth E-30 has the same nominal 5.6-inch size and a symmetric handle. Joewell gives it a lower 15% statement. In this exact pair, the model with more teeth has the higher published rate.

The ratio-reading guide uses that difference to explain why count cannot stand in for tooth design. It does not establish a result for every section or let you multiply the percentage by the number of closures.

This listing contains E-40 alone. Choose the separate E-30 product when that is the model you mean; a matching series name does not create another option here.

A pair keeps the cutter and E-40 choices separate

The 5.5-inch Classic pair with E-40 and 5.5-inch Classic PRO pair with E-40 both include the 5.6-inch E-40. The cutter’s Standard or Convex Shape blade is a separate decision from this thinner’s tooth design and published rate.

Another 40-tooth tool can change several fields

The FX-PRO 40 keeps 40 teeth but adds a shaped 3D offset grip, Sword & Flat blade and dry-bearing mechanism at six inches. The SNT-40 has its own small tip grooves and volume-control specification at 5.9 inches.
