What's Included
- Traditional opposing handle; right-handed build
- Convex edge and VG10 steel with polished finish
- Choose one 5.5- or 6.25-inch cutter
Opposing rings, with two choices of reach
Juntetsu Classic keeps the finger and thumb rings opposite each other. It is a right-handed cutter with a convex edge, VG10 steel and polished finish, offered in 5.5 and 6.25 inches. Start here if a traditional straight layout is familiar from the tool you already use.
Handle and length are separate parts of the choice. A longer cutter gives the tip more reach; it does not change the opposing ring arrangement. The fit guide helps you describe each difference before putting it on the shortlist.
Compare the grip at a familiar length
The 5.5-inch Classic and 5.5-inch VG10 Offset both list VG10 steel and a convex edge. The Offset uses a 3D offset handle instead of the Classic’s opposing layout. Compare where the rings sit and how their contours meet your hand; the handle name alone cannot settle the fit.
Our handle guide explains the vocabulary. Classic is also distinct from Classic II, a separate shorter cutter listed in 440C steel. A similar family name does not establish the same material or size.
Choose the reach for the section
The 6.25-inch Classic adds reach within this same construction. Compare it against a familiar shear and the sections you cut. Use the size guide to keep nominal whole-tool length separate from the cutting blade measurement.
The convex edge describes one part of the blade. For a particular drawing movement, consider the cutting line and stated model use as well; our blade guide shows why those details belong in separate fields.
Clean and dry the blades after use, keep the pivot clear and protect both edges in storage. If cutting starts to drag or the action changes, pause and describe it through the care and symptom guide before deciding whether another tool is needed.
