What's Included
- 440C steel; listed hardness 58–60 HRC
- Convex edge with traditional opposing rings
- Right-handed cutter in 5.25 or 5.75 inches
A shorter cutter with opposing rings
Classic II gives you a 440C convex cutter with the finger and thumb rings opposite each other. Choose 5.25 or 5.75 inches; both are right-handed. The polished finish and listed 58–60 HRC belong to this model’s specification.
Start with the reach you already know how to place. The 5.25-inch option brings the tip closer, while 5.75 inches adds reach within the same build. Nominal inches measure the whole tool; the size guide helps you separate that from cutting-blade length.
Classic and Classic II change more than the alloy
The separate VG10 Classic in 5.5 inches also has opposing rings and a convex edge. Its material and available lengths differ. A move from Classic II therefore changes reach as well as the steel statement; these are not two identical cutters with one alloy swapped.
Our VG10 and 440C comparison shows how to keep those differences visible. The 440C guide explains the grade label without turning it into a sharpening timetable.
The handle still needs its own comparison
Opposing describes ring position. The openings, contours and working-tip placement still have to suit your grip and task. Use the fit guide to describe those details against a familiar tool.
The convex edge is one part of the blade. For a particular drawing movement, consider the model’s blade line and stated use as well; our blade guide keeps those terms separate.
Keep the blades clean and dry, clear the pivot and protect the tip in storage. If cutting starts dragging, use the care and symptom guide to record the change before arranging service.
